Mammoth Hot Springs
This is another “Must-Do” in the Yellowstone park.
This place lies on a hill of travertine. The terraces were formed thousands of years ago due to the water flowing from the spring and its cooling down; this is one of the Yellowstone’s most active hydrothermal areas. These hot springs are in constant change; changing color and shape as time progresses. You might be surprised that the spring you visited a year ago may be totally different this year.
The Grand Prismatic Spring of Yellowstone
The Grand Prismatic Spring is said to be the third largest spring in the world. Its name is a result of its interesting coloration, which looks much like that of the rainbow; red, orange, yellow, green and blue. People who have visited it couldn’t believe that the flamboyant colors of the spring are all natural. This huge hot spring is truly a natural wonder that has earned its worth.
Yellowstone Park is home to many different species of wildlife. There are more animals here than anywhere else in the U.S. at least those that live in their natural habitat. You’ll enjoy a number of different animals here; these include, grizzley bears, grey wolves, bison, eagles, trumpeter swans, moose and more.
Rafting and Paddling
Yellowstone offers the perfect location to learn to raft or paddle. You can take a rafting trip near the lakeside geysers and raft down the rivers. These trips are available at all of the entrances and truly an unforgettable experience.

Yellowstone is the perfect place to get away from it all, but you can make the experience even more unforgettable when you take the right stuff with you. Be sure you take sturdy hiking shoes or boots, a good outer shell as nights can get chilly, and sun protection for the sun drenched days of adventure.
